Surface Treatment

Image

A variety of methods are available for machining the surface of thin sheet metal to give a truly excellent finish.

Blasting:
Glass pearl blasting is used to polish the surfaces of your sheet metal, both stainless steel and blackplate. This technique is also applied to carry out repair work and to protect against corrosion after welding. Thus, the sheet metal retains its semi-gloss, hardened surface and the lifespan of the sheet metal is extended. Before commencing surface treatment proper, blackplate is first blasted to produce uniform surfaces to allow further work to be carried out smoothly. Of course, stainless steel and blackplate are handled in separate blasting cubicles.

Grinding and polishing:
Grinding and polishing creates the high-class surface finish you expect. Manual grinding methods or grinding machines are employed to produce top-grade micrographs for the external surfaces of your cover panels. Large sufaces are dealt with on belt grinding machines. Whether it's straightforward or tricky grinding patterns – just ask us.
